In New York State, new wage rates take effect from the first day of 2006. Managers of Positouch installations need to prepare for the change now rather than later so that their employees can be paid correct wages . CCP provides instructions to make the change smooth, with contributions from Stu Blank, Boulder Creek's IT Director.

How to Adjust the Positouch Backoffice for Wage Changes

Minimum wage changes will be effective in New York State from January 1, 2006. Wages change from $6.00 to $6.75, while the wage tip credit rises from $3.85 to 4.35. As a result, Positouch systems will need to be tweaked to accommodate the change by the effective date.

We like to ensure that your employees are properly paid, and like to assit you to make that happen through the following instructions:

From the BackOffice, select Time and Attendance

Now Select Employees

And then Jobs/Rate

Select the job that has to be updated, and click EDIT

In the fields offered, enter the following information:

  • RATE UPDATE – Enter the appropriate new wage for your state
  • WEEK UPDATE – Select the option “Week Start 12/26/05”
  • Day Update Select “SUN” for Sunday, 1/1/06

Click OK when done and SAVE EACH EMPLOYEE before moving on to the next.

PLEASE begin this process now, to be prepared for the increase.

As far as reports are concerned, both rates will be shown for each employee.

For further assistance, please call the Help Desk or fill a form to have the instruction emailed to you.
